Texas Sweeps Danville to win 2002 World Series
Game 1
Edgar Martinez slammed 2 homeruns as the Texas OutLaws defeated the Danville Dixie Dynomite by the score of 3 to 1 at Nobel Field.
Danville was unable to claim the lead after Texas went ahead in the top of the 6th inning scoring one runner. Texas had only 6 hits for the game.
Mike Stanton(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no runs. Stanton got help from Jose Mesa who was credited with his 2nd save. The losing pitcher was Pedro Martinez(2-1).

The fans watched an exciting game at Nobel Field. The Texas OutLaws topped the Danville Dixie Dynomite by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
The game was won by Texas with a run in the 9th inning. After two were out Reggie Sanders hit a bases-empty home run (his 1st of the playoffs). Danville went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.
Cory Bailey(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and allowing no runs. Jose Mesa got the save, his 3rd. Mark Buehrle(2-1) took the loss.

The Texas OutLaws nipped the Danville Dixie Dynomite 4 to 3 at The Hide-Out in a hard fought contest, sweeping the series and winning the GABL Championship.
Texas came up with 2 runs in the 6th inning. Danville threatened in the 9th but Texas was able to put down the rally.
The victory went to Andy Pettitte(2-0) who went 1 inning, allowing 1 run. Jose Mesa was credited with his 5th save. The loss was charged to Lorenzo Barcelo(1-1) in relief.
Timely hitting was the key for Texas throughout the series as Danville out hit Texas in the series 34 to 26. The Texans made their hits count by outscoring the Dynomite 17 to 11 and out homered them 7 to 6.
