Game 1
Game 1 saw Saarloos vs Martinez. Some had questioned Mr. Saarloos as the choice to pitch the opener. He showed them he was the correct choice outdueling Pedro pitching 6 shutout innings. However when he was pulled the floodgates opened as the Baergas got a 4 run 7th capped by MVP Derek Lee`s 2 run double. El Pedro was hit fairly hard, not getting out of the 7th giving up 3 runs and leaving the bases loaded as he exited.Cabrera picked up the win in relief. Howry was hit hard getting the loss
Game 2
The Baerga bats came alive for the first and last time of the series belting 15 hits and scoring 11 runs and Josh Beckett was superb pitching a complete game 4 hit shutout. Freddy Garcia took one for the team, taking the loss.
Game 3
The Mocs just couldn`t score getting only 2 hits off Felix Hernandez. Bonderman pitched a great game allowing only 6 Baerga hits in a complete game. However one of them was Derek Lee`s first homer of the series. Both pitchers go all the way with Hernandez getting the 1-0 win.
Game 4
PedroShut the door and sent everyone home with a little help from Billy Wagner in the 9th.The Mocs finally showed their power hitting 2 homers in the 9th but it was too late and the Baergas rap up the series 5-3.
Jermaine Dye was voted MVP going 7-15 with one big fly
The Baergas hit 304 as a team, right in line with their regular season but most of that was in one game Mocs bats never woke up as they hit 174 for the series and never seemed to get a split go in their favor.
